What are the must see countries? Thinking Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe (Vic Falls) and South Africa. Also is it likely to rain Dec-Jan?

All beautiful countries - and all offer different things. Uganda is on my list for this year, but due to the recent rioting I am having second thoughts. I wanted to go gorilla trekking, but may go to Rwanda instead. Dec Jan is pretty hot 40+degrees, you may get the occasional showers. Vic Falls is beautiful - on the Zambian side you can go for a swim in Devils Pools on the edge of the falls. Dec Jan is perfect time to do this, because it's dry season (still water, just not gushing over the edge). over 8 years ago

Aussie girl just moved to London on ancestory visa, been here 3 days, looking to do a tour to get started, meet ppl etc,any ideas..HELP!

Hmmmm - There are a lot of Aussies in Earls Court. Head to a bar, listen for some accents and then introduce yourself ;). You may not want to mix with Aussies (cos you're on holiday and you want to meet others.......), but they will welcome you in and give you some fresh local tips on what they did to meet people. I also did a couple of walking tours around the city, nice way to meet people but mostly my groups tended to be older and in couples. over 8 years ago

What is the best way for backpackers to travel cheaply around Australia?

Buy a cheap van and drive it around the country. Australia is not cheap, so be prepared to spend a bit of money or earn some along the way. Get one you can sleep in and do a search on places that will allow you to park overnight. The best way is to find little jobs you can do along the way. Fruit picking doesnt pay well, but you do get to meet a lot of great people along the way. over 8 years ago

    Ubud Rental home

I can highly recommend the Chapung Sebali - but this is a little bit luxury. Its a 15min drive outside of Ubud, or a lovely 1.5hr stroll through the rice frields into Ubud. It comes with a driver, chef etc, private villa with swimming pool....... (dreaming of it now). Its located in a little community, we got invited into a family home for dinner and a celebration on night - was lovely. We booked using www.agoda.com and got it less than 50% off. over 8 years ago
