so what else not to miss apart from minus5 and fergburger??

head to the base of the Queenstown gondola and you'll find a walking track that takes you to the top, it winds up the hill and you'll experience beautiful scenery all the way up plus you'll save a few bucks by not paying for the gondola. Once you're up there spend the money on the luge carts! super fun! over 7 years ago

also, head to the Queenstown gardens and experience the disc golf course! if you dont have a disc you can buy them in town from numerous retailers or you can hire them from the Queenstown ice arena (located in the gardens) Not only is it a fun activity but the views from the walk around the gardens are spectacular (especially in winter when there is snow) over 7 years ago

What is the best month to go to new Zealand? Weather wise.

if you are going in summer i would agree with Nikki and say Jan to Feb, the ocean and lakes are warm and the climate generally sits between 18-28 deg celsius in most parts of the country during the day. In winter (especially if you are planning to visit the ski resorts) go in August... its the middle of the winter season and snow can be seen on most peaks in the south island and on a select amount of higher hills in the north. The snow cap peaks make for some amazing photos but can make travel a bit hazardous especially during our winter storms in the south island. over 7 years ago
