Any tips on amazon tours in South Peru/Manau?

We also spent 4 days in the jungle. We booked everything in advance, so not sure if the price will be cheaper once you are there. Our trip reports are here if you are interested: - Iquitos and the Belen Market: http://bit.ly/qpwLs0 - Amazon Jungle: http://bit.ly/oFvTcS over 7 years ago

I've heard about severe thief problems all around Perù...is that true?

We stayed all over Peru for about 14 days (big towns and small villages), and never had anything stolen from us. Just exercise caution when you walk around town like you would when you travel to any city in the world. Our trip report here if you are interested: http://bit.ly/vZDOBd over 7 years ago

    Cuzco Altitude Sickness

Locals believe drinking Cocoa tea helps as well. I see some hotels and PeruRail has the oxygen available for emergency. But you don't want to get sick when you get that. Highly recommend getting the diamox prescription b4 you leave home almost 8 years ago

I've heard about severe thief problems all around Perù...is that true?

Practice common sense and you should be fine. I just came back from a 2 wk tour to Peru, visited the Amazon jungle, Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. No thief problems whatsoever. We always carry our passports & money with us. And all our luggage are locked in the hotel rooms (buy TSA approved locks and lock up each luggage individually). Feel free to check our travel blog for tips on Peru too. www.onthegroundtravel.com almost 8 years ago

Our family would like to take an African Safari in Kenya and visit the Masai Mara village f Can someone recommend a travel or tour company?

We booked our trip direct without a travel or tour company. We booked with Kicheche Masai Mara camp. We booked the domestic flights from Nairobi out to Masai Mara through Air Kenya. They have a website where you can purchase tickets. (Although they never seemed to pick up on the phone numbers they published.) If you're interested, we wrote about our experience on our travel blog. If you have questions after reading it let us know! bit.ly/KpmGmy almost 7 years ago

Looking for an exotic paradise beach destination in Brazil. Where to go?

A friend of our kept on raving about Buzios near Rio. We ahven't been there but it is rated as a top destination on TripAdvisor. http://bit.ly/SGWbw8 "If there’s a "beach economy," Buzios is its Wall Street. Its more than 20 beaches, world-class galleries, clubs and boutiques draw an elite set of travelers. Surfers love Geriba Beach, snorkelers enjoy Ferruda, hip Ossos Beach offers upscale beachside cafes and laid-back Ilhabela Beach offers a more down-to-earth Buzios experience." -TripAdvisor http://bit.ly/SGWbw8 almost 7 years ago

Can anyone give me some advise on whether to use USD or Vietnam Dong? Which is better?

When we were in Vietnam a month ago, we use Dong. Unlike Cambodia where everyone quotes everything in USD, in Vietnam, Dong is still the primary currency. over 7 years ago
