Has anyone found a good source for finding a RELIABLE private tour guide for a tour of Beijing's food hutongs? I fear being ripped off.
Check out the local hostels. They usually have guided tours scheduled or know where you can find a reputable guide. over 9 years ago
Be careful to check your hundreds and fifties for authenticity. There are a lot of street vendors out there who will pass off counterfeits to unknowing foreigners. The easiest way to tell is to look for the holographic 50 or 100 in the corner of the bill and to feel the ridges of Mao's jacket. If your bill is smooth there, you've got a fake. over 9 years ago
Baseball or football cards wouldn't mean much to these kids. Now, NBA cards? Those will work. The Chinese kids know and love the NBA. Otherwise, Chinese kids pretty much like to play with the same stuff American kids do. They're really big on stuff like Transformers. Just don't bring anything over that has a big "Made in China" label. over 9 years ago
