    Land border crossings Laos

Went from Vietntien to Nohn Khi (N Thailand) last year and back across the freinship bridge. Very easy got a taxi to border control, got in to a little mini bus through to other side after completing exit formalities and the got Visa on Thai side with the same, plenty of more detailed info already posted on exact formalities, which may have more recently become even easier? Then got taxi to Nhon Khi. almost 7 years ago

    Land border crossings Laos

Entering Vietnam you must have your Visa before entering I believe pre approved Visa on arrival only good for main airports? - unless your from one of the few countries that don't need Vietnam visa. almost 7 years ago

Sorry Sharron, can't give you a useful answer - hope you found the information you needed and had a great trip about 7 years ago

how to get a tourist visa for vietnam

If you need a 3 month visa , they are no longer available as pre approved visa on arrival (July 2012) getting one via Vietnamese embassy in Canberra, very straightforward and fast. Downloaded form , sent via cexpress post on Monday had back by Wednesday. Not so handy if you are overseas already, I am never really comfortable posting my passport somewhere when traveling! I want to fly from uk to either Hanoi or HCMC and then travel the length of Vietnam flying out of the other airport. Any suggestions

Train are a good way to travel in Vietnam, more comfortable than buses , especially the small ones, cheap too.sleeper trains good choice if your on a budget (save a nights accomodation) much more likely to get a decent sleep than on the sleeper bus. Really depends though how long you have, what sort of budget, travel preferences and sense of adventure. Met 2 girls cycling Vietnam and Cambodia., another young guy doing HCM to Hanoi on a motorbike.. Hireling a car and driver can get you to some off the tourist route places.if you have a bit of spare cash maybe around $100 a day Which direction to travel, depends on what time of year, studying weather forcasts carefully and then a lot of luck!
