What's the best place to visit in Croatia?
The water and sky in Dalmatia is much more vivid than up north so I second the recommendations of Dubrovnik and islands off the coast in the south. Two other highlights of my Croatia trip were the national parks of Krka (near Šibenik) and Plitvice (about halfway between Zadar and Zagreb). Don't miss them. Croatia is cheaper than Italy but only slightly. over 10 years ago

Croatia is good value, but only a handful of beaches are sandy. Most are pebbly. over 10 years ago
