Luang Prabang has numerous ATMs...they are, however, temperamental ...the one at the airport rejected my bank card and credit card, then I got into the town centre, and it took three thrives at three different ATMs until I was able to withdraw using my bank card. So, be patient...it will work and you needn't go to a money exchange where e rates are high. almost 8 years ago
Travelling to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next month...any suggestions on what to see...must try restaurants...street food??
Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang has a number of fun bars and restaurants. There are also a number of local restaurants in the area. The street is charming and not far from Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Sultan Ismail....not far from Pavilion Shopping Centre...very high end shopping!! about 8 years ago
I stayed at Serena Hotel which was in Stonetown...great place plus, they have a shuttle bus that will take you to a secluded beach where you can also have lunch. Please include a visit to the slave caves which can be arranged through the hotel. We also arranged for guide to take us around the spice market and other places to shop. Walk to Mercury's which is dedicated to Freddie Mercury of Queen. The area is great as a starting point. about 8 years ago
If you eat at local places, the average would be under $10RM or $3.30US. Eating at regular restaurants can equal North American prices. Some are about 1/3 less than the equivalent North American restaurants. about 8 years ago
