Can anyone suggest a gud resort at koh samui for honeymoon? Not super exorbitant but decent. Thx

Silavadee is very nice and romantic, has a private beach and a great spa, and I found they have some promotional rates. Enjoy your honeymoon. about 9 years ago

Is it safe to travel in Medan by yourself as a woman?

I think the main problem you might encounter is the "excess friendliness" of the locals, especially of the Batak people. They will want to talk to you, know about your country. Beware, some of them can be really handsome, great guitar players and experienced womanizers :-) Besides this, you should not worry. They might be annoyingly friendly, but they would never dare touch you or harrass you if you tell them to leave you alone. over 9 years ago

Which one best to visit on October Chiangmai or Krabi island

Central Airport Plaza is in South-West, but not far from the city center (10 minutes by taxi or tuktuk). Not much to do around there though, unless if you're into shopping for Westernn brands. I suggest you check in somewhere in the Old Town, nearby Taphae Gate (East Gate). There are plenty of guesthouses, restaurants and bars there. Most backpackers hang around in that area,, so you can easily make new friends. over 9 years ago

Anyone done the MAE HONG SON LOOP in Chiang Mai on motorbike? Any suggestions or advice much appreciated :)

Hi, Holly. If you mean the Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Son - Mae Sariang - Hot - Chiang Mai loop, thr answer is I did. And I did it on an artisanal saleng (motorbike and sidecar attached). It's a lot to say about it. I suggest you save at least one week for the trip, as I guess you will want to enjoy the surroundings as well. Split the trip into four legs, as described abive (without Hot). The toughest parts are CM to Pai and Pai to MHS. Very steep and curvy. I counted about 940 curves on the road, to say nothing about the countless bends. I suggest you go one person per motorbike (if you hire anything below 200 cc) or get a bigger bike if you want to go share the saddle. Rain is quite frequent in the mountains so make sure you have a raincoat with you. Wear a jacket at all times, it might get quite chilly. over 9 years ago

Where in South East Asia is the best place to experience white sandy beaches?

"The Beach" was filmed in Phi Phi Leh, Thailand. However, the place Garland writes about in the book is the Ang Thong Marine Park in The Gulf of Thailand. You should check that place. It's a miracle. over 9 years ago

What would you recommend to visit in a rainy December Phuket or Hua Hin?

In theory, Phuket should be drier than Hua Hin in December. But this year weather went crazy, so it's hard to say. over 9 years ago
