What is fun to look around in Bangkok

There are quite a few interesting places to see. For me, a must is taking one of the boats that go up and down the Chao Praya river. If you want more, take a smaller long tail boat and check the small canals, to see a Bangkok that is usually hidden from the tourist eye. Wat Pho is another unmissable landmark and so is the nearby flower market. over 9 years ago

Anyone done the MAE HONG SON LOOP in Chiang Mai on motorbike? Any suggestions or advice much appreciated :)

Hi, Holly. If you mean the Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Son - Mae Sariang - Hot - Chiang Mai loop, thr answer is I did. And I did it on an artisanal saleng (motorbike and sidecar attached). It's a lot to say about it. I suggest you save at least one week for the trip, as I guess you will want to enjoy the surroundings as well. Split the trip into four legs, as described abive (without Hot). The toughest parts are CM to Pai and Pai to MHS. Very steep and curvy. I counted about 940 curves on the road, to say nothing about the countless bends. I suggest you go one person per motorbike (if you hire anything below 200 cc) or get a bigger bike if you want to go share the saddle. Rain is quite frequent in the mountains so make sure you have a raincoat with you. Wear a jacket at all times, it might get quite chilly. over 9 years ago
