What state close to Florida has some interesting places to visit?

Atlanta Georgia has some classics like the aquarium and the coca cola factory. If you don't mind the drive across the pan handle, new Orleans is great. Plantation country can provide you a relaxing glance back in time. You can't miss with Oak Alley Plantation. If you like the looks of the place you can actually book to stay a night there. Don't miss the mint juleps. over 8 years ago

In Vienna for 3 days. What are "must see" places?

As mentioned in other replies, Stephensdom was one of my favorites. If you aren't the squeamish type and arrive at the right time they offer tours that go down through the catacombs. Great history, spooky atmosphere. As for signature items to take home, try going to a wine or liquor shop and asking for ice wine. It's a desert wine that is made while the grapes are frozen. You'll see it written as Eiswein. Ask for a local bottle and enjoy a sweet drink after dinner. Also the old town area is sooo beautiful at night. I walked it with one other woman and never felt unsafe. Seeing everything lit up at night was the highlight of my trip. over 8 years ago

I am visiting Utah to photograph the landscape. I am looking at traveling there later this month. Any suggestions if i have three days?

All of Utah is amazing especially the photographic standards like Moab. One of my favorite places that's a bit off the beaten path is Goblin Valley state park. Check out images of it online to get a feel for the other worldly landscape. The campground there is beautiful as well over 8 years ago

Planning to drive in Utah. Any recommendation? Thks!

For stunning scenery most people head to Moab for a sure thing, and of course the large national parks towards the south of the state are amazing. One of my favorite places is actually a state park called Goblin Valley. It's like walking on another planet. You can check out my blog (you'll have to go back through the history to labor day a few years back) or just google it for pictures. The camp ground there is amazing as well. I was basically tent camping back in my own little canyon. Very nice! over 8 years ago

Where to go in Grand canyon?

I visited a few years ago and spent a majority of my time at the south rim like most tourist. If I were to go back I would head over to the Havasu (probably spelled the wrong) reservation and ride or hike down to the falls. You'll be charged for every little thing but the place looks amazing. over 8 years ago

I love to go off road on my Jeep. Where is the best place to do that in NM?

I don't know about the best place but it doesn't seem like it would be hard to find a place. The Gila national forest provides plenty of opportunity, but it gets very very remote. Of course there's no cell service, and where I used to live we were two hours drive from the nearest gas station, so fuel up and take an emergency beacon. over 8 years ago

Best guest ranches near Jackson Hole, WY, and best times of year to visit?

Time of year really depends on what you are looking for. In the summer months the area is swamped with tourists, but it's good for fishing, horseback riding, rafting, etc. Winter is best for skiing, snowmobiles, and dogsleds. I always preferred the fall. The area quiets down and the elk and other animals come down out of the high country which makes for easy viewing. All ranches are different as well. I've worked at three different guest ranches over the years and some are more resorts than anything. Be sure to research your ranch and make sure it provides what you are looking for. Typically ranches termed "dude ranches" are going to focus on riding and the western experience. "guest ranches" are usually a bit more fancy and will have extras like tennis courts and spas. I think a good indicator of what a ranch will be like is finding out how many people they can have at once. The smaller the number the more personalized your rides will be. over 8 years ago

Staying in Bondurant just south of Jackson. 5 kids in tow from 7-16 yrs. Any suggestions?

I used to live near there. It really depends on the time of year. If there's snow, you aren't far from Jackson hole iditarod sled dog tours where I used to work. You can take an all day ride up to the hot springs and go for a swim. In the summer you can drive yourself there on the gravel road. There's a nice waterfall to play around at on the way in as well and it also has a few little hot pools near it's base. Enjoy! over 8 years ago
