Is a rabies vaccination needed for a trip to Nepal?

There are stray dogs here, but none rabid as far as I can tell. The dogs are well taken care of by its owners and they are tame and well fed and no likely to bite anyone. I was in Nepal for two whole months and have experienced friendly dogs approaching me for a pat and accompanying me around on my daily walks even though I was a complete stranger to them. That is how friendly Nepalese dogs are, just like the inhabitants. So no worries, you are as likely to be bitten by a rabid dog as being hit by falling space debris. But of course, have vaccination for every possible disease, it is highly recommended when traveling into a third world country. You never know what you may encounter. Check out this website on recommendations, especially the one on rabies if you will be coming into contact with wild dogs and domestic animals. http://peakfreaks.com/vaccinne.htm almost 8 years ago

    Transportation from airport to hotel

We have taxi service 24/7 here in Singapore so you do not have to worry about transportation from airport into town. There will be a queue of taxis waiting just outside the arrival concourse for passengers. The taxi queue is well regulated by officials who will direct passengers in an orderly fashion on a first come first served fashion. You could of course book a taxi from the airport service counter for premium passengers and you will be met with a premium taxi right away without queuing with the general crowd. Alternatively, you could always book into the Airport Hotel upon your arrival (or prior to your arrival by going online) and avoid the hassle of searching for a hotel in the middle of the night, especially if you do not have a prior booking. If you really intent on being in town first thing in the morning, do make prior booking online at the many excellent hotels here before you arrive to ensure you have a room ready for you. Some hotels even have pickup service to fetch you from the airport to the hotel proper, thus saving you the trouble of looking for one in the middle of the night, especially after your tiring journey from your embarkation point wherever that may be. Have a pleasant stay here in Singapore and do relate your experience/s here on this Nomad website so the others may also learn from you. Have no worries. almost 8 years ago

Is it better to stay in sentosa island or Singapore and go to the island from there?

Do bear in mind that both Sentosa and Singapore are just about one kilometer apart and is linked by roadway and cable car. You can even possibly swim over if you so desire, that is how close both islands are. You can of course stay over in Sentosa as there are many hotels there catering for the tourists. Take a look here: http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%3Fei%3DUTF-8%26p%3Dhotels%2Bin%2Bsentosa%2Bisland&w=160&h=160&imgurl=www.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dhotels%2Bin%2Bsentosa%2Bisland%23focal%3D94fa5619eb25c50a78b9e5645ac13d72%26furl%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.travelpod.com%252fcache%252faccom_maps%252fhotels-sentosa_island.gif&size=&name=search&rcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dhotels%2Bin%2Bsentosa%2Bisland%23focal%3D94fa5619eb25c50a78b9e5645ac13d72%26furl%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.travelpod.com%252fcache%252faccom_maps%252fhotels-sentosa_island.gif&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dhotels%2Bin%2Bsentosa%2Bisland%23focal%3D94fa5619eb25c50a78b9e5645ac13d72%26furl%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.travelpod.com%252fcache%252faccom_maps%252fhotels-sentosa_island.gif&p=hotels+in+sentosa+island&type=&no=2&tt=115&oid=http%3A%2F%2Fts1.mm.bing.net%2Fimages%2Fthumbnail.aspx%3Fq%3D1281228879706%26id%3Dbfbf69266f612e8eb658e9778abf0c0f&tit=Sentosa+Island+Hotels%3A+Find+Sentosa+Island+Hotel+Reviews+and+Rates+...&sigr=15o4tk977&sigi=15hn7m36h&sigb=1220d24tt&fr=ipad almost 8 years ago

Can anyone indicate me some common courtesies when visiting Indonesia?

Ah yes, totally agree with what Hilary has written above on common courtesies. Very insightful. I wonder how Indonesian tell whether a woman is menstruating or otherwise? Can they tell from a look or from some mystical tell-tale signs a mentruating woman bears? Strange! Oh yes, in some rural areas, the women still go around topless as depicted in paintings displayed in major museums around the world. Never never ogle at them as it is extremely rude. A quick side glance is permissible though, but do not be too obvious as you may be considered a pervert over there. Most times though, the lady folks do have a decent bra over their bare breasts but do remove them to facilitate household chores and farming due to the exceptionally humid weather and oppressive heat there. Copious perspiration is the norm as you will be too as it is Summer there all year round. You won't want to go round drenched in sweat. It will be very unlikely for you to meet up with these tantalizing bare breasted females, but if you are so lucky, do not act surprised and do cast your gaze on the ground so as not to offend them. almost 8 years ago

What are the must see sites of Scotland?

ki/Abercrombie,_Fife Gregorian chant by Benedictine monks at some old churches are concerts you should not miss. It is spiritually uplifting, no matter what domination your religion may be. Do look out for their highland "coo", or cow with unbelievably long fur, very reminiscent of the Tibetan yaks. The highland coo are very tame and docile and you can go right up to them to stroke them. almost 8 years ago
