Travelling in a Muslim country, in this case Indonesia, during Ramadan

You are welcome to Malaysia. During the month of Ramadhan, the non-Muslims are free to do the usual activities such as eating in public etc...there are "pasar Ramadhan" (pasar=market) usually starts around 3pm till 7.30pm which you can visit and can taste local cakes (deliciousy.....spelling?) etc, in the evening the Muslims congregate at mosques from 830pm till 1030pm....these are their main activities during Ramadhan. Regarding fasting observed by Muslim, Jews and Christians you may serve muliafaez.blogspot.com....have a nice stay in Indonesia and welcome to Malaysia about 9 years ago

Where is the best asam pedas in town!

There is one on the way to Muar from Malacca town. After about 10 minutes drive from the state mosque, you need to turn right at a traffic light junction (sorry unable to specify exactly because I am not local..). then you need to drive another 5 minutes to reach you asam pedas shop. The shop is wooden, clean, ample parking space for 20 cars, and have seats for about 50 customers...runs by a Malay family. about 9 years ago
