Does anyone have tips for great hiking trips in Norway?

Hm, not the part of the country I know best, I'm sorry to say. But check this site: ut.no (can be translated to English), or contact Den norske Turistforening (DnT). They have marked many thousand trekking routes in the whole country, and they have cabins you can stay in for a relatively low price. Some cabins have hosts and almost hotel fasilities, other cabins have food reserves you can buy from, at the simplest ones you have to bring your own food and you need to get a key from DnT. There are quite a few DnT-cabins in the big forests around Oslo, and plenty of nice long and short walks. If you plan to go along the southern coast, you might find they also have old light houses turned into cabins. Norway has a reputation for being very expensive, but at least trekking can be done without spending a fortune. If you prefer tent, you might put it up almost wherever you want. over 8 years ago

Where in Norway will you go? There are plenty of opportunities for great hiking in Norway, and I'll be happy to help, but would be good to know whereabout you're heading? North? West? Around Oslo? over 8 years ago
