Has any one been to Huatulco, Mexico? Is it worth the trip? We may be going to the Dreams resort. Any comments?

Huatulco is one of the hidden gems in the vacation industry. It has a unique vibe that sets it apart from other popular Mexican destinations like Cozumel, Cancun, MR etc. Here is a link to an excellent blog that has many posts for restaurants, tours, flight info and all kinds of other info. That should give you a clear view of Huatulco and the various regions that it is comprised of. One suggestion though, if I may. Check out some of the private villas that are available if you have not already booked at the Dreams Resort. Dreams is a fantastic resort but often you can get real luxury villas (Hollywood style) for a cheaper rate. The upside is that some come with personal chefs s the meals are always catered to you, you can also purchase day passes for the resorts that allow you to use all of their facilities. Just something to think about ;) Here are the links: http://blog.myhuatulcovacation.com (plenty of information about life Huatulco here) http://myhuatulcovacation.com (lots of villas for rent - very impressive) about 8 years ago

Any suggestions for a quiet village to stay in Mexico?

I suggest Huatulco as the ultimate place to visit for those looking for a low key vacation. Despite the quiet aspects of the area, there are plenty of activities available for those traveling solo or full families traveling together. My advice for saving some cash is to stay in a private villa instead of the larger resorts. Everything is close by when you are in the villas. There are many sizes and styles available - here are a few to check out: http://blog.myhuatulcovacation.com/huatulco/feature-articles/huatulco-hotels/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huatulco about 8 years ago
