How to get to the city from the airport

Everyone knows there is a train. But with 3 young kids and luggage, I needed to know if it is easy to get from terminal to inside the train, using trolly and lifts, and similarly at the city station side. In Milan, it was not like that and worse, with no lifts from the station to the train platforms and platforms numbers appearing only 5 mins before arrival, it was tough. Hence my question. over 7 years ago

Is it safe to travel to Jakarta?

Hi Fiona. As an expat living and working here, my short answer is, yes it is safe. Except for the occasional heavy rains causing flooding in some areas and the constant jams, there are no natural calamities. Other forms of attacks can happen anywhere, anytime. Perhaps the only attack you might get after your visit here is perhaps traveller's diarrhea. Do not get paralyzed into not going anyplace just because someone said so. Jakarta, as with many major cities, is a huge place. over 8 years ago

    14 hour transit in Auckland

Not much in the way of shopping in the city but you may want to take a cruise on one of the America Cup yachts. It is also nice to walk along Mission Bay beachfront. A little tight but you might want to hire a car from the airport and drive towards Rotorua. It will be a nice drive and even if you do not make it to the town, along the way you will discover honey and strawberry farms, Maori establishments etc. over 8 years ago

I'd go for Shotover. But it does depend on where you are planning to ride, ie which river. over 8 years ago
