Which is better to see for first time to this area ...Valley of Fire or Death Valley?

Both are great. If you go to Valley of Fire don't miss the Petroglyphs and Mouses Tank. Great stories about both if your interested in history. If Las Vegas is your home base for the trip consider travel time. Death Valley is a full day trip. Getting there seeing it and getting back is 8-10 hours so that is your whole day and early evening. You could do Valley of Fire in 4-6 hours round trip so you would have a full evening after getting back. Good luck and have a great time either way! over 8 years ago

Anyone know of a good hotel on Vegas with room balconies (with exterior balconies) with great vistas (not necessarily of downtown).

Good views in Las Vegas are hard to come by honestly. The mountains around the city are gorgeous but hard to get a real unobstructed view of from the strip. The balconies at the Cosmopolitan are great (some wrap around corners) and some rooms at Palms Place have good views and balconies. Just make sure you book direct with the hotel and ask them to preassign your room. Call back on the day of and make sure the front desk has assigned you a room with a good view. over 8 years ago

What hotel on the strip in Las Vegas gives you the best value for the price?

It depends on what you mean by value. If you want a good deal here are some tips: 1) Check Travelzoo.com first. Hotels put their best deals on Travelzoo so there are usually some good deals. 2) If you go to a hotels website be sure to check for Specials and Deals and if you have advance time sign up for email offers. Most offer at least 20% off weekdays through email most weeks. 3) Look for ways to save on food and entertainment to get a better room. the Buffet of Buffets (7 buffets fir 24 hours) is a good example. Tropicana recently remodeled but the rates are still very good. It is a good value now. Palms is expensive but you get a good quality room just a little off the strip. Worth the price. Monte Carlo has a nice casino and laid back entertainment and dining. Good prices most weeks. Good luck and hope you join us in Vegas soon. over 8 years ago
