How can I search for a cheap hotel website for Tel Aiv in Israel?

Go to Trip Advisor's website, writing in the words "cheap hotels, Tel Aviv." Alternatively, enter cheap hotels into a search engine of your choice and then confirm how good the place is with Trip Advisor (i.e. people who have recently stayed in the places). Alternatively, look at the Israeli Youth Hostel system has to offer in the Tel Aviv area. almost 6 years ago

Is it safe to travel to Israel at the beginning of September 2012?

It is safe to visit Israel in September. As the above respondent noted, Israel exercises a high level of security alertness. I would personally say that this level of security exceeds what travelers and residents alike experience in many European, Asian and North American countries. Of course, everyone (regardless of location) needs to exercise caution (whether you are going to work or to the grocery store). In mid-September, the fall Jewish holidays begin. So during this period, check opening and closing times of public places and the running of public transportation. Have a great time. It is an amazing place. almost 7 years ago

How safe is trip from Tel Aviv to Petra jordon and return?

Herbert, I agree with Phil. Your biggest concern (if you are in fact renting a car) will be staying clear of cars, vans and trucks who think they are participants in the Indie 500. Again, if you are behind the wheel, drive defensively. I don't know how much time it will take at the border, but it could be more than you bargained for. So bring with a book, or something to occupy yourself until you are on your way again. (On last weather related comment, since I don't know how soon you are traveling, I would add that it is quite hot in both areas right now. If you are traveling once the rains begin, be very careful of sudden rains in Petra. The Nabateans knew how to harness the water; we need to be smart too.) Both towns are amazing in their own right, so I know you'll have a great time. about 7 years ago

Best day trips in Israel please? Going in mid may. Thx.

There are countless day trips you can take, some with private guides, some self-guided tours (the Jerusalem municipality has trips you can download from its website, for example), some offered by nature organizations, etc. You do not say what your budget is, what your interests (nature, history, archeology, etc.), or in what part of the country you are most interested. Therefore it is somewhat difficult to answer. I suggest you read some of my recent articles published by the Jewish Exponent magazine. Best, Deborah Rubin Fields over 7 years ago

What is the best way to get from the Grand Beach Hotel the HaCarmel market in Tel Aviv?

I am not from Tel Aviv, but I would suggest you try these methods: On the internet, find the Egged bus company. Go to the English version of the website. Put in the street name of the hotel and put in your destination. You probably can also specify the time of day you want to travel. You should get what bus lines operate to the area in question. Alternatively, follow the above, but this time use the Dan Bus lines. These two lines service the Tel Aviv area. Other options: use an online Tel Aviv city map (mapa is bi-lingual, for instance), a GPS, ask the hotel receptionist, ask people on the street. Sometimes, Israeli municipalities are prepared to help you online with a user friendly map or with an tourist information section. Enjoy you visit. over 7 years ago

in febbraio vado in oman, nel passaporto ho il timbro di Israele.mi può creare dei problemi?

If I understand your question, you are concerned with entering Israel on a passport that shows an entry to Oman. You do not say if you are entering as a tourist, student, foreign worker, and I assume you are not seeking asylum. If you are entering as a tourist, I do not think you will have a problem, but in any case, to play it safe you should contact Israel's Minister of the Interior, the department dealing with "visas and aliens" and/or the Israeli Consulate closest to you. Enjoy your visit to Israel. over 7 years ago

Other than taking a taxi, what is the best way to get to Jaffa from the Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport?

It really depends where in Jaffa they need to get to, but basically they can take the train from the Ben Gurion Airport station to the "merkaz-savidor" station. It should be only 4 or 5 stops from the airport. When you get off the train, they have to leave the station. Outside and in front are a bunch of bus stops. They should take the #18 bus line. It is about a half hour bus ride to Jaffa. In Jaffa itself, the bus runs along Yerushalaim Boulevard, Jaffa's main street. Enjoy the visit.
