Going to Williamsburg for first anniversary. Where are the must see spots in Williamsburg and good non-chain places to eat?
The cheese shop in kings street. I love the tuna but my partner swears by the turkey sandwich. A must. They have a nice wine selection in the basement. Next door is a candy store. Kings tavern is great too. See 'cry witch', 'mama said, papa said', both night programs. almost 8 years ago
We went on the cowboy cookout (near Roosevelt campground). You ride horses or in a modified covered wagon to dinner where it is all you can eat steak and sides while a cowboys plays guitar and sings. Very good food and a nice change of pace from camp food. On a side note, I recommend checking out Cody, Wyoming if you have time. They have an amazing museum in the Buffalo Bill museum and the Cody rodeo is awesome. Well worth the side trip and about 30 miles away! about 8 years ago
I am taking a 3 week driving vacation from Los Angeles to Mount Rushmore. Suggestions on what to see on the way?
Yellowstone, rodeo and Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, Wyoming. Also, check out the area around Mt. Rushmore, tons to do there. We went in the cave and Wind Cave National Park and it was cool. Lots of others in the area. Battle of Little Bighorn and Devils Tower are also en route, as is the city of Deadwood, which got famous in the HBO show. Hope that helps! about 8 years ago
