Company to go with when snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef

Hi Page - so exciting that you're coming to Cairns - the city and the Great Barrier Reef are amazing! You are right - there are loads of tours available and it can be a bit overwhelming. Passions of Paradise are award winning and the crew are amazing - they make you feel really welcome and it is a beautiful boat (not too big but loads of room to relax). Their website is http://www.passions.com.au/. Another choice would be Ocean Free - this is a smaller boat that sails out to Green Island - perfect for the more intimate day - more suited to snorkelling though so if you are looking for certified dives go with their sister boat Ocean Freedom or Passions who being catamarans get further out on the reef. http://www.oceanfreedom.com.au/ is the site for Ocean Free and Ocean Freedom. If you're looking for awesome accommodation in Cairns then check out www.nomadscairns.com too :) Have a brilliant time and give us a shout if you need any more info. over 6 years ago

Cairns snorkling trips to the great barrier reef

Yo Thomas! There are so many trips in Cairns that go out to the reef - prices range from about $110 - $170 for a day trip and most include lunch. You will leave from the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns at 7am and normally return at around 5pm - it is also possible to pay a bit extra on the day (up to $50) and get an introductory scuba dive. We have info on loads more trips - we are from a backpackers hostel in Cairns so know them all inside out - if you would like more info just give send me a message! almost 8 years ago
