Try airBnB for places to stay. We stayed at "at the Park" recently...excellent apartment. Also try youth hostels, but there is a wide range of comfort. over 8 years ago

Absolutely go to Belgium...Brussels (the Grand Place), Bruges (rent a bicycle definitely), Dinant. Trier and Aachen, Germany are hothead really nice. Amsterdam is a fun city, but huge! over 8 years ago

I have only been to Madrid...would love to go to Barcelona. For interesting architecture, all fingers point to Barcelona. If you go to Madrid, take a train to Toledo for an afternoon. Be sure to go to the market area. over 8 years ago

Any suggestion for activities for a trip to the united kingdom?
We absolutely love Belgium, especially the Grand Place in Brussels and the medieval town of Bruges. In Bruges, be sure to rent bicycles (nice short day ride to Damme along the canals). Try Bruges Zot beer and eat at the sidewalk cafe across from the windmills (Cafe der Moller or something like that...). Other places well worth going for food and architecture: Aachen, Germany and Trier, Germany. over 8 years ago
