What adapter do I need to charge my Ipad in France

You can also use any simple adapter set that can be bought for under $10 at Walmart or Target in the US. Look in the luggage aisle. over 8 years ago

Can I buy an iPad chip in Europe so I can use my iPad while traveling

In Netherlands and Germany, you can buy a prepaid card for about 10-15 euros (Tmobile), in Belgium you can get a similar card from Base. Most work in only one country...but the iPad is heaven to travel with. I'd rather have my iPad than just about anything else I carry! One thing: I think that verizon 3g iPads from the US do not work with European sim cards. I have an AT&T iPad, which works beautifully (iPad 1 or 2...no difference if AT&T). over 8 years ago

Can I recharge my iPad in Amsterdam on their electricity?

If you use the small wall socket adaptors without converters, they will work on electronics which show 100-240V on their plugs. Almost all new electronics don't need converters...things like hairdryers generally MUST have converters. Major chain stores, like Walmart and Target, have outlet adapters for very little cost...under $10 In the US. Look in the luggage section. over 8 years ago

Can I take my iPad through airport security without the xray damaging it?

Absolutely...I do it constantly. And another wonderful thing about the iPad is that US security no longer requires that the iPad be removed from your purse or bag. Laptops must be in a bin by themselves. over 8 years ago

Does anyone know of a pre-paid micro-SIM card for an iPad in the UK?

I have not done this in the UK, but have bought prepaid microsim cards in Germany (Tmobile), Belgium (Base), and the Netherlands (Tmobile also). I suspect one of those two, if available, is your best chance. Be sure to get it activated while in the store...the store people seem good about it. I am from the U.S., where there is a choice of an AT&T iPad or Verizon iPad. ONLY the AT&T version is compatible with the European prepaid plans as I understand it (luckily, that is what I have). Regardless, the iPad is simply the best travel tool ever invented! over 8 years ago

We'd like your suggestions about going to Machu Pichu, Peru. Places to stay? Foods? Time of year? Trekking companies?

We can pay whatever we need to, but would prefer to avoid crowds and over-priced luxury accommodations. We would prefer off-season travel and good healthy local foods. over 8 years ago

Where is the best place to explore Venice Italy?

I agree, walk, walk, and walk! I am not sure if I could find anything other than the most obvious places even with directions! As you wander though the town, stop at shops, cafes, and mini museums. I wandered into a Salvador Dali museum somewhere in Venice...loved it! And definitely take a boat to Burrano...if nothing else for the gorgeous colored buildings! over 8 years ago
