I am interested in Hong Kong night markets. Can anybody give pointers when I shop around at this time of night?
Mongkok is brilliant but pickpocketing can be a problem, although I've not had a problem. Wallets and phones are a No.1 target so keep them secure. Otherwise, get off the main road (Nathan Rd) and venture in a block or two, that's where the good stuff is. almost 8 years ago
I am going to be in Hong Kong for 2 days, shopping being my priority, which hotel in the shopping area is a budget hotel?
The YMCA is a good choice. It's pretty cheap and right in the middle of things, by the harbour. There are extra cheap flea-pits but if you want a good place and not too much money check out YMCA. almost 8 years ago
How safe is Japan at the moment? I have tickets to travel there during December 2011 (Tokyo & Hakuba)
I totally agree with the others. My wife and I went to Tokyo and places around it in April and even then things were fine. Check out 'TimeOut Tokyo' on Twitter. They're right on the pulse with good info (I don't work for them). We were in Shinjuku during a 7.2 quake early April and even then it was totally safe. Enjoy Tokyo. It is brilliant. almost 8 years ago
