For my honeymoon, Is it better to book travel yourself or through a travel agent?

It depends what you like, Ahmed. Travel agents can be helpful because the good ones have experience w the places they recommend and they can usually build you a complete package. However, that can get pricey and sometimes be inflexible. If you're busy planning a wedding tho, getting help w your travel plans might be a great choice. Planning on your own is much more work but can be much more rewarding and allow you to create a personalized experience - as long as you can view it as an adventure, because nothing turns out *perfectly*! But I wish you a perfect honeymoon, good luck w whatever you decide! over 3 years ago

Hey Ahmed, as mentioned above it really depends on what you want from your honeymoon. If you feel confident enough to tailor each individual part of your honeymoon then that's great, you can make sure that you know each aspect if a reflection of what you want. This can be a stressful experience though especially if you have to juggle planning a wedding at the same time and many modern tour operators are very flexible with what they can offer. Personally I would use an agent but the decision is yours to make!

As a visitor or tourist you need a travel agent in order to be full protected from where your going and also making sure that it will provide you withe the best services that you need and get the full information of what you might need.

Travel agents can be helpful putting together tours and often getting great deals on a cruise.

However...for booking cheap flights and finding hotel deals there is nothing better than using the "Travel Search Engine" at BestTravelCoupon.com. They search 100s of sites and post the lowest rates. I don't think a travel agent can compete.

After this site I use Kayak.com to double check the rates.

These 2 sites use different search tools for both flights and hotels. So you do see different results. For hotels the big edge goes to BestTravelCoupon.com. For flights, the results vary so I always double check. over 1 year ago

You don' t usually pay any fees to a travel agent, some may charge for some things, but they have been in the business for many years, they can compare prices between several wholesalers for you. they have access to consolidator air fares which maybe cheaper than directly with the airlines. Use their expertise, believe me you can spend dozens of hours on the Internet yourself and still be none the wiser. They also know the companies that are reliable to deal with. over 1 year ago
